Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is the most elective surgical procedure in the NHS and private sector. It is safe effective and aims to restore vision, improved colour perception, correction of refractive errors based on the patients needs.
Phacoemulsification to date remains the most effective technology in removing the “discoloured hardened human lens” which is termed cataract. Cataract is change in physical and optical property of human lens, simply described as “Egg white becoming Parmesan Cheese”. The newborn lens is gel like and transparent like “egg white” by advancing age the human lens becomes “parmesan like” in colour and consistency loosing its transparency and hence optical quality.
